FOR YOUR GRASS NEEDS

          Hydro-seeding or hydro-mulching is one of the fastest methods of seeding. Demand for hydro-seeding is growing rapidly. Hydro seeded lawns cost less to install than grass sod and germinate rather quickly when properly cared for. This method also requires less water than the standard sod lawn to establish. The mulch applied with the seed is a form of recycled paper or a form of wood mulch. The recycled paper or wood mulch forms a barrier to protect the seed and soil from the wind and rainfall and gradually decomposes as the lush carpet of lawn is established. Grass seed and fertilizer are applied with the mulch in a water based liquid. We advise that a weed herbicide be applied to the area that you wish to hydro-seed to help prevent the establishment of weeds five days prior to the seeding application. This will help alleviate any weeds from establishing within the seeded area.

            Putting the seed, fertilizer, and mulch as it is applied. Since seed requires moisture and warmth to germinate, the process gives the seed a “jump start” in the growth cycle. You must water the seeded area everyday for 10 days to saturate the seed as the roots are forming. Then maintain the growth with water by watering 3 times a week thereafter. Soil-Tech is not responsible for the germination of the seed once it has been placed. This is crucial for a successful application. The three rules of growing grass are: water, water, and water!
